As soon as the 2009 NFL Draft concluded, the Jets, along with other NFL teams, rushed to grab the best undrafted talent. We've learned from various sourced that the Gang Green thus far have signed the following undrafted free agents:
The Gang Green used their last pick (#193 overall, 6th round) in the 2009 NFL Draft on OG Matt Slauson from Nebraska. Slauson, 6'5", 315 lbs is expected to be a backup who could potentially grow into a starting role.
The New York Jets continued dealing and wheeling on Day 2 of the 2009 NFL Draft as they traded their 3rd (#76 overall), 4th (#115 overall) and 7th (#228 overall) round picks in exchange for the Detroit Lions' 3rd round pick (#65 overall) to select RB Shonn Greene from the University of Iowa.
The New York Jets traded their #17 overall pick, their second round pick (#57 overall), DE Kenyon Coleman, S Abram Elam and QB Brett Ratliff for Cleveland Browns' #5 overall and selected QB Mark Sanchez from USC.
The New York Jets have officially announced that their annual training camp will be at SUNY Cortland this summer. There will, however, also have some open practices for fans in New Jersey and Long Island.
