Another trade with Cleveland?

Admin - May 5, 2009

According to various sources, another trade between the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns might be in the works. The Jets are reportedly looking to trade disgruntled RB Thomas Jones for Cleveland's WR Braylon Edwards.

Jones, 30, is unhappy with his contract and looking for more money, following the best season of his career (1,312 rushing yards and 13 rushing TDs). Edwards, 26, had a breakout season in 2007 when he caught 80 passes for 1,289 yards and 16 touchdowns. Last season, however, he scored only 3 touchdowns and led the league in dropped passes. The Browns are looking to trade Edwards and trading for him would obviously make sense for the Jets who still don\'t have a true #1 wide receiver. The Gang Green also drafted RB Shonn Greene just in case if they have to part ways with Jones.

In other news, the NFL has announced that the Jets will be wearing their throwback New York Titan uniforms three times this year: September 27 against Tennessee, October 25 against Oakland, and November 1 against Miami.
