The New York Jets have announced that they will open the 2009 Training Camp on July 31st with two practice sessions in Cortland, NY. Unlike in previous years, when the camp was held in one location, this year the Gang Green will have practices in three different facilities — Cortland, Hofstra University and the new HQ in Florham Park, NJ.
The sun finally showed up in the afternoon as Gang Green took the field (no pads this time) for the second time today. There were also noticeably more fans, but still far from what I saw last summer at Hofstra. Nevertheless, the crowd did seem more lively and involved than they had been during the rainy morning session.
The New York Jets opened 2009 Training Camp this morning on the grounds of SUNY Cortland in Upstate New York. Despite the nasty rainy weather, hundreds of fans gathered to watch the first practice under the guidance of new head coach Rex Ryan.

It's been a long time coming, but the new TheGangGreen.com is here and all of you can expect only bigger and better things here in the coming months. The new version represents a blog/website hybrid and is integrated with the message board. It's far from being complete, and the only reason why it's being launched tonight is lack of time to get it all done before training camp.
LB Calvin Pace has been suspended for the first four games of the 2009 NFL regular season for violating the league's performance-enhancing substance policy. He will be eligible to return for the Monday night game against the Miami Dolphins in Week 5.
