The New York Jets have declared RB Shonn Greene, CB Drew Coleman, G Matt Slauson, QB Kevin O'Connell, LB Ryan Fowler, TE Matthew Mulligan, CB Marquice Cole inactive for today's game against the Texans. QB Erik Ainge will be #3 emergency quarterback.
No real surprises here, and the reason why 3rd round pick RB Shonn Greene is inactive is his rib injury. The Jets have apparently decided not to take any risks with the rookie and kept him out of the season opener for precautionary reasons.
DE Marques Douglas will start at defensive end for DE Mike DeVito (hamstring), who was to start for the suspended DE Shaun Ellis. DT Sione Pouha will start at DE on the opposite side.
