Jets take a dive in power rankings

Admin - October 13, 2009

As expected, the New York Jets lost quite a few spots in power rankings, following their embarrassing loss in Miami. The biggest drop was in CBS Sports power rankings where the Gang Green fell from #6 to #13. FOX Sports had them down only 3 points (from #5 to #8), while ESPN lowered the Jets' stock from #5 to #9.

Here's what the top 3 websites had to say about the Jets:

ESPN: Braylon Edwards already looks like a steal of a trade for the Jets.

FOX Sports: THE BRIGHT SIDE: Rookie Mark Sanchez has been a breath of fresh air and an energy boost out of the gates. Plus Rex Ryan has definitely brought attitude and toughness to New York.
THE FLIP SIDE: Wins over Houston and Tennessee aren't all that, and its win over rusty New England in Week 2 at home is looking less ground-breaking with the Pats now 3-2. Plus, Rex Ryan's defense has allowed 55 points in its last two games.

CBS Sports: Two road games, two losses. That has to be a concern. The defense struggled at Miami. Now the schedule gets easier, which should help them go on a little run.
