According to ESPN, San Francisco 49ers president Jed York is dropping the team's tampering charge against the New York Jets over WR Michael Crabtree. The 49ers filed tampering charges with the NFL regarding their negotiations with 1st round draft pick Crabtree. Deion Sanders, a former All Pro cornerback, said he knew two teams that were willing to pay Crabtree what he wanted while he was holding out from the Niners. The 49ers investigated and filed the charge against the Jets.

QB Mark Sanchez will start again next week despite throwing 4 interceptions and losing a fumble in a 14-31 loss against the New England Patriots. Head coach Rex Ryan said that he had no plans on benching the rookie, as sitting on the bench will not help him improve. This was the second time this season when Sanchez turned the ball over 5 times in one game.

The Jets are trailing 24-7 at halftime after what was probably the worst half played by the Gang Green this season. The Jets have gained only 34 yards thus far, while New England has racked up 272 yards against Rex Ryan's heralded defensive unit. New York has only 2 first downs and QB Mark Sanchez has thrown an equal number of completed passes and interceptions - two apiece. The Jets rookie is 2 of 9 for 15 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT.

S Jim Leonhard, who had surgery on his broken thumb earlier this week, missed today's practice and will not play on Sunday against the New England Patriots. Leonhard was injured when he tried to tackle Jags running back Maurice Jones-Drew on his 33-yard first-quarter touchdown in the Jets’ 24-22 loss last Sunday. He left the game briefly but returned and finished the game, recording seven tackles and a sack. S Eric Smith is expected to start in his place. Smith played an important role in the Week 2 win over the Patriots, blitzing Tom Brady a total of 17 times.

The New York Jets suffered another heartbreaking loss this afternoon, as they fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars on a last-second field goal, 22-24. The Gang Green had their chances to win this game, but ultimately just failed to make plays when they had to.

After al this talk about going to the playoffs despite starting the season 4-4 and today's game being a must win, the Jets defense simply forgot to show up this afternoon. They have already allowed 3 touchdowns and 250 yards against Jacksonville, proving once again that a lot of talking doesn't translate into results on the field.

The New York Jets have declared CB Ahmad Carroll, RB Danny Woodhead, QB Erik Ainge, CB Justin Miller, QB Kevin O'Connell, OG Matthew Slauson, LB Ryan Fowler, LB Vernon Gholston inactive for Week 10. Erik Ainge is #3 emergency quarterback.
CB Lito Sheppard will not start on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars despite being able to fully participate in all practice sessions this week. Head coach Rex Ryan said that "Even though he’s practiced fully, I don’t think Lito’s all the way back yet. We’ll evaluate and see how much he plays. I think we’ll start Dwight Lowery." So, CB Dwight Lowery, who has started in 4 games this season, will start again against Jacksonville.
LB Vernon Gholston will most likely not play on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars as he's missed his second straight practice today with a hamstring injury, which he suffered during Monday's walkthrough practice. Gholston, who was picked 6th overall in 2008, has been a major disappointment on the field. He is yet to register a sack in the NFL and has been a non-factor in limited action on defense and special teams this season despite starting in the position vacated by LB Calvin Pace who was suspended for the first four games of the season. WR Brad Smith (quadriceps) was very limited in practice, and he looks to be a long shot for Sunday.

If you've watched this team for as long as I have, you really should not be surprised at what happened yesterday in the Meadowlands. The Gang Green dominated their opponent, the Miami Dolphins, for almost the entire game, limited them to just 104 yards of total offense and still found a way to lose the game! Yes, those were the Same Old Jets that we got so used to seeing over all these painful years of amazing wins and shocking heartbreaking defeats. There was one thing though that we hadn't seen until yesterday - two back to back kickoff returns for touchdowns!
The same old Jets struck again this afternoon against the hated Miami Dolphins, losing a game where they gained almost four times more yards than their opponent. The Gang Green limited Miami to just 104 yards of total offense and only 10 first downs, yet they managed to find a way to lose in a typical Jets' fashion. This time it was special teams that allowed two back to back kickoff returns for touchdowns, basically giving the game to the Dolphins. After the game head coach Rex Ryan said that this Jets team can beat any team in the league and can also lose to any team in the league. It took him 8 weeks to realize what Jets fans have known for years!
It's halftime and the Jets are tied, 3-3, against the Miami Dolphins. QB Mark Sanchez has looked just horrible, missing open receivers and muffing a snap late in the second quarter. He's 8 of 16 for 54 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT. Would QB Kellen Clemens be a better option at this point? It just can't be worse. Sanchez also almost threw an interception, but WR Braylon Edwards was able to knock the pass down. Of course, benching Sanchez would greatly affect his confidence, but isn't winning games more important?
