Following their win against the previously undefeated Indianapolis Colts, the New York Jets moved up in power rankings on two of the three major sports websites. ESPN had the Gang Green up 5 points (from #19 to #14). CBS Sports moved them 6 spots up (from #17 to #11). FOX Sports, however, well I am not even sure what to say about this one... they lowered the Jets' position in their rankings from #20 to #22. The Jets won, and even though it was mostly against backups, they still won. But I guess it was a good enough reason for "experts" at FOX Sports to lower their stock.

The New York Jets beat the previously undefeated Indianapolis Colts to keep their playoff hopes alive, 29-15. The Jets now control their own destiny, as Baltimore, Miami and Jacksonville all lost earlier today. All the Gang Green have to do is defeat the Cincinnati Bengals in the regular season finale next Sunday.

As expected, the loss to the Atlanta Falcons lowered the Jets' stock in power rankings on two of the three major sports sites. The Gang Green fell 3 spots down in the latest ESPN power rankings (from #16 to #19) and one spot down on CBS Sports (from #16 to #17). FOX Sports, however, once again surprised everyone, as they moved the Jets up from #21 to #20. Last week when the Jets won, FOX moved them 2 points down.
Well, this was really nothing new for everyone who's been watching this team long enough. The same old Jets lost to the Atlanta Falcons, 7-10, after dominating basically the entire game. The so much heralded defense that kept Atlanta in check for almost four quarters gave up a touchdown drive right when it mattered the most. Just like they had given it up against Miami and Jacksonville earlier this season.

Head coach Rex Ryan has finally announced that QB Mark Sanchez will start on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. Sanchez has practiced this entire week, so Rex's decision really comes as a no surprise. Sanchez will wear braces on his both knees.

QB Mark Sanchez practiced again with the first team this morning. He looked fine, showing no signs of the injury that sidelined him last week against Tampa Bay. Head coach Rex Ryan once again did not name Sanchez as the starter for Sunday's game against Atlanta but said that he was optimistic about the rookie's chances to return to the lineup.

QB Mark Sanchez was limited in practice this morning after missing last game with a knee injury. He split first team reps with QB Kellen Clemens who replaced him last Sunday against Tampa Bay. Head coach Rex Ryan said that he will name the starter for the game against the Atlanta Falcons later in the week. Although it's pretty obvious that Sanchez is going to start unless he reinjures his knee.

As we have known for a few days now, rookie QB Mark Sanchez will miss his Sunday's game against Tampa Bay due to a knee injury. Sanchez suffered a sprained PCL last Thursday against the Buffalo Bills. QB Kellen Clemens will start in Sanchez' place.
The New York Jets placed special teams ace LB Larry Izzo on injured reserve, ending his season and probably career as well. The 14-year veteran, one of Mike Westhoff's favorites, was in his first season with the Jets after spending 8 seasons with New England and 5 with Miami. He recorded 7 tackles for the Gang Green this season and forced one fumble.
QB Kellen Clemens will start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, as QB Mark Sanchez is unable to play due to his sprained right knee, head coach Rex Ryan announced today. Ryan added that he made the decision not to have Sanchez play after seeking the advice of team doctors.
Rookie QB Mark Sanchez spent today's practice session on a stationary bike, trying to rehab his injured knee. He suffered a slight tear in his posterior cruciate ligament last Thursday night against the Bills and has been rehabbing about 18 hours per day, according to head coach Rex Ryan. Another missed day of practice makes it quite doubtful that Sanchez will be able to suit up on Sunday. If Sanchez does play, he'll have a brace on both knees. He has been wearing a brace on his left knee since college.
According to various news sources, QB Mark Sanchez suffered a a sprained posterior cruciate ligament (PCL), and if he can handle the pain, he would be able to play December 13 at Tampa against the Buccaneers.

The New York Jets beat the Buffalo Bills in Toronto to keep their slim playoff hopes alive and get back to .500. QB Mark Sanchez left the game in the 3rd quarter with a knee injury and did not return. It was the defense, however, that won this game for the Gang Green. The Bills were limited to just 194 yards of total offense and only 71 passing yards. DE Shaun Ellis and CB Darrelle Revis came up with huge plays at the end of the fourth quarter to kill Buffalo's last hope to win this game.
