Jets pursue Jason Taylor, D-Brick happy with contract

Admin - April 8, 2010

Earlier today LB/DE Jason Taylor was given a tour of the Jets facility and introduced to some of his potential teammates. LB Calvin Pace and DE Shaun Ellis both expressed their desire to see Taylor as in green and white. "I think it’s be good for us," Pace said. "It's always good to add another body to the mix. His track record speaks for itself so it’s positive."

Taylor's been a long time nemesis of Jets fans, most of whom hate him with a passion. Who can forget seeing Jason Taylor cry on the sidelines after the Monday Night Miracle when the Gang Green defeated the Dolphins in overtime. Shaun Ellis, however, thinks that "when he (Taylor) runs out of the tunnel on day one they (Jets fans) will be cheering."

In other news, according to ESPN, OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson isn't unhappy with his contract. The Jets offensive lineman said the rumors that he was unhappy with his contract started when he changed agents to Brad Blank. Ferguson was drafted in the first round in 2006 and signed a six-year deal.

UPDATE (1:20PM EST): Jason Taylor is going home to think about the Jets' offer. The general feeling around the Jets clubhouse is that Taylor is very interested in joining the Gang Green.
