Jets begin signing undrafted free agents

Admin - April 25, 2010

The New York Jets will officially announce their undrafted free agent signings later this week, but here are some of the players that, according to various sources, have been signed by the Gang Green: CB Donovan Warren (Michigan), DT Mick Williams (Pittsburgh), SS Cory Reamer (Alabama), OG Charlie Tanner (Texas), WR Philip Kirkland (Bethune-Cookman), DE Kevin Basped (Nevada), WR/TE Jeff Cumberland (Illinois) and OT Keith Buckman (North Dakota State). S Marcus Ezoff (California) will be invited to rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.

CB Donovan Warren, 6'0", 185 lbs, started all 3 years at Michigan. In his senior year Warren started in all 12 games, recording 66 tackles, 4 INTs, 11 pass defenses.

DT Mick Williams, 6'1", 282 lbs, is rather small for an NFL DT. He played in 13 games as a senior, recording 42 tackles (17 for loss) and 5.0 sacks.

SS Cory Reamer, 6'4", 218 lbs, is a huge safety who's big enough to play at linebacker (if he gains more weight). As a senior Reamer recorded 50 tackles (28 solo), 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble and 1 INT.

OG Charlie Tanner, 6'4", 305 lbs, is a very mobile lineman, quick enough to block down, disengage and reach the linebacker. He, however, must improve his hand usage to take out defenders instead of just getting in the way.

WR Philip Kirkland, 5'10", 185 lbs, played in only 3 games in 2009, catching 7 passes for 45 yards. He played in 11 games in 2008 - 25 receptions for 425 yards, 2 TD.

DE Kevin Basped,6'5", 258 lbs, is a pass rusher who had 9.5 sacks and 12.5 tackles in 2009 and was a second-team selection to the Western Athletic Conference's all-league team. He had 19.5 sacks over the past two seasons.

TE Jeff Cumberland, 6'4", 249 lbs, can be used primarily as a blocker. He played in 12 games in 2009, catching just 11 passes for 174 yards, 3 TD.
