Jets sign Howard Green

Admin - September 15, 2010

The New York Jets signed NT Howard Green to fill in NT Kris Jenkins' spot on the roster. Jenkins, who suffered a season ending injury on Monday against Baltimore, will be replaced in the starting lineup by DT Sione Pouha, while Green will serve as Pouha's backup. According to various sources, Green signed a 2-year contract.

Green, 6'2" and 365 lbs, appeared in 12 games for the Jets last season, registering 23 (16 solo) tackles. He signed with the Washington Redskins this offseason but was cut before the season began.

He was selected in the 6th round in 2002 out of LSU by the Houston Texans. He has since been a journeyman, playing for the Ravens, Texans, Saints, Dolphins, Vikings, and Redskins before joining the Jets in 2009.
