Injuries

Revis, Pace and Hunter out against Dolphins

Admin - September 24, 2010

CB Darrelle Revis (hamstring) and LB Calvin Pace (foot) will miss Sunday's showdown against the Dolphins. Revis suffered a hamstring injury last week against the Patriots, while Pace got injured in preseason and hasn't played in a regular season game yet. OL Wayne Hunter (shin) did not practice all week and will not play either.

Both C Nick Mangold (shoulder) and LB Jason Taylor (elbow) are listed as questionable and expected to play. Mangold missed Wednesday and Thursday practice sessions, but returned to practice this morning.

Here's the final injury report:

New York Jets
Out: OT Wayne Hunter (shin), LB Calvin Pace (foot), CB Darrelle Revis (hamstring)
Questionable: C Nick Mangold (shoulder), LB Jason Taylor (elbow)

Miami Dolphins
Out: DE Jared Odrick (ankle)
Doubtful: G John Jerry (illness)
Questionable: LB Channing Crowder (groin)

CB Antonio Cromartie will take on Revis' duties covering Miami's best wide receiver - Brandon Marshall. Marshall has 12 catches for 124 yards in his first two games with the Dolphins, but hasn't gotten into the end zone. Cromartie is rather familiar with Marshall from when they both played in the AFC West. Marshall had one of his biggest games against the Chargers, when he caught 18 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown in 2008. Cromartie defended Marshall on only about a dozen plays, but also got penalized four times that day.

S Eric Smith was fined $7,500 for unnecessary roughness on his first-quarter hit on Patriots WR Wes Welker last week. Smith’s forearm struck Welker’s helmet, which also drew a flag on the field.
