Jets remain in top 10 despite another loss

Admin - December 29, 2010

All three major sports websites kept the New York Jets in the top 10 of their power rankings despite the fact that the Gang Green lost three of their last four games. ESPN lowered their position from #5 a week ago to #8. CBS Sports dropped the Jets by just one point - from #8 to #9. Finally, FOX Sports agreed with ESPN and placed the Jets at #8 (down from #6).

Here's what the top 3 websites had to say about the Jets:

ESPN:  The Jets truly have Revis Island this year. He's the Jets' only defender to be voted to the Pro Bowl.

FOX Sports: I'm as surprised as anyone that the Bears were able to put up five offensive touchdowns against the vaunted Jets defense. Sure, losing SS Jim Leonard and NT Kris Jenkins has been an issue, but that's no excuse for the inconsistency at times this season from this defense. Opponents clearly understand that they can move the ball in the air against them.

CBS Sports: Talk about backing into the playoffs. They got in even though they lost. That defense has some work to do against the pass.
