David Harris signs franchise tender

Admin - February 23, 2011

According to ESPN.com, MLB David Harris signed his franchise tender Wednesday night, becoming the third player to do so in the past 24 hours. This comes at a time when the NFLPA has claimed the tags don't and won't exist. Harris' franchise number projects at between $10.1 and $10.5 million, depending on what the NFL determines, according to the source.

Harris, 27, is a 4-year veteran who was selected by the Jets in the 2nd round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Last season he recorded 99 tackles (69 solo), 3.0 sacks and forced one fumble.

In other news, the Jets have announced that ticket prices for the 2011 season are going up by an average of 2.3%. However, instead of 100 percent payment on season tickets due on April 1, as would normally be the case, fans only need to pay 50 percent by that date. The other half of the payment would not be due until a new CBA is reached and the league announces when training camp will begin.
