Jets go d-line again in round 3

Admin - April 29, 2011

The New York Jets continued rebuilding their defensive line on Day 2 of the 2011 NFL Draft, as they selected DT Kenrick Ellis from Hampton with their 3rd round pick (#94 overall). Ellis, 6'5", 346 lbs is a good run stopper who has the size to play nose tackle. He recorded 15 tackles for loss in both his senior and junior years.

According to the scouting reports, he has very long arms, holds his ground against double-team. Ellis can also show a mean streak and plays with violence.

Ellis did have some off-field problems, as he failed a drug test and had an assault charge. He could also do a better job protecting his legs.
