Plaxico ready for practice, Shaun Ellis signs with Pats

Admin - August 7, 2011

WR Plaxico Burress seemed fine in the team's morning walkthrough and it looked like the recently signed wide receiver would be finally ready to practice. Burress sprained his left ankle, missing Thursday and Friday practice sessions (the Jets had a day off yesterday).

The Jets are scheduled to practice at 2:15pm but if it rains, they will go inside where the fans won't have access. TheGangGreen.com is preparing a new feature that will track practice session related tweets from top Jets' beat writers. So, once the practice is over, you'll be able to read all their comments and observations here at TheGangGreen.com.

Meanwhile, DE Shaun Ellis, who spent his entire NFL career with the Gang Green, has agreed on a 1-year contract with the New England Patriots. In 11 seasons with the Jets Ellis registered 499 tackles (343 solo), 72.5 sacks, 12 forced fumbles and 14 pass defenses. It truly is a full circle for Ellis who was drafted by the Jets with the draft pick that they received from the Pats as compensation for head coach Bill Belichick.
