Jets begin their rise in power rankings

Admin - November 8, 2011

Following Sunday's demolition of the Buffalo Bills, the New York Jets finally began climbling back up the power rankings ladder. All three top pundits are now pretty much in agreement that the Gang Green should be somewhere around the top 10. ESPN ranked the Jets at #11 (up from #13 a week ago). FOX Sports placed them at #9 (up from #12 a week ago). Finally, Pete Prisco of CBS Sports had no choice but to move the Gang Green up from #19 to #11.

Here's what the top 3 websites had to say about the Jets:

ESPN:  Rex's Jets have their swagger back -- just in time for their huge rematch with New England.

FOX Sports: The Jets are beginning to look like the team that went to two straight AFC championship games. They are running the ball better, and the defense is back to getting pressure on the QB. Mark Sanchez looks to be playing at the same level as he did last year, but still, the Jets will need better from him at some point. With their upcoming schedule, they may take hold of the AFC East by the end of the month.

CBS Sports: They came off the bye and handled the Bills with ease. The defense looked like the defense we expected to see all season.
