Jets fall out of top 10 in power rankings

Admin - December 20, 2011

The New York Jets fell out of the top 10 in all three major power rankings following their abysmal display against the Eagles. But they are still in the top 12, which obviously means that all three top websites still consider the Jets being a potential playoff team. ESPN dropped the Gang Green from #10 to #12. FOX Sports, who had them at #9 a week ago, lowered them to #12 as well. Finally, CBS Sports put the Jets only one spot down - from #10 to #11.

Here's what the top 3 websites had to say about the Jets:

ESPN:  The Jets are more lucky than good. They still control their playoff destiny despite an ugly loss to Philadelphia.

FOX Sports: Outside of the Giants, there wasn't a more disappointing performance on Sunday than what the Jets displayed. Even more disappointing was the so-called leadership of WR Santonio Holmes. Not only did he fumble a ball returned for a touchdown, but he tipped a pass that was eventually intercepted, and then capped it off with a celebration penalty later in the game. Not what you expect out of your captain in the heart of a playoff run.

CBS Sports: They have a huge game with the Giants this week. Loser is in big trouble. Mark Sanchez has to play better.
