The Gang Green addressed another need in Round 3, as they selected OLB Demario Davis from Arkansas State at #77 overall. Davis, 6'2", 235 lbs, is a fast linebacker who ran 40 yards in 4.53 seconds at the scouting combine. He recorded 229 tackles (129 solo) in his NCAA career and had 10 tackles for loss and 3 sacks in 2011.

The New York Jets made a trade with the Seattle Seahawks in Round 2 to select WR Stephen Hill from Georgia Tech. Hill, 6'4", 215 lbs, is projected to be the deep threat that the Jets' offense has lacked since the departure of WR Braylon Edwards. He ran 40 yards in 4.36 seconds at the scouting combine and averaged almost 30 yards per reception in his last NCAA season. Hill caught 15 passes for 291 yards, 3 TD in 2010 and then broke through in 2011 with 28 receptions for 820 yards, 5 TD.

The New York Jets went defense in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, as they selected DE Quinton Coples from North Carolina at #16 overall. Coples, who will turn 22 later this year, was named a first team All-ACC selection in 2010 and 2011. He recorded 59 tackles and 10 sacks in 2010 as a junior. Then, in 2011 Coples registered 55 tackles and 7.5 sacks. He ranked 4th in the country among active players with 24 career sacks and left UNC with 144 total tackles, 5 forced fumbles, 22 quarterback hurries and 4 pass breakups.

Tebowmania will get in full swing on September 9th when the New York Jets host the Buffalo Bills in the season opener. Then, in Week 2, the Jets will travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers. In Week 5 the Gang Green will host the Houston Texans in a Monday Night Football showdown. The next primetime game will come in Week 12 when the Jets host the Patriots on Thanksgiving Night.

The New York Jets are set to open their preseason against the Bengals in Cincinnati, according to the Preseason schedule that was released earlier today. There's no set date yet but the game will take place between August 9th and August 13th. In Week 2 the Gang Green will play against their crosstown rivals, the New York Giants. Then, in Week 3 the Jets will host the Carolina Panthers on August 26th. Finally, in Week 4 the Jets will travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles.
