The New York Jets added another veteran safety to their roster, as they agreed to a 1-year contract with S Yeremiah Bell, who played his entire 8-year career for the Miami Dolphins. Bell's deal is reportedly worth $1.4M, which includes a $1.1M base salary, which is guaranteed, plus a $200,000 signing bonus and a $100,000 workout bonus. This move could spell the end to S Jim Leonhard's tenure with the Gang Green. Bell is expected to back up another free agent acquisition, S LaRon Landry, at the strong safety position, while S Eric Smith is expected to start at free safety. Although, as we all know, Smith is prone to getting exposed in pass coverage and the Jets could use an upgrade there as well.

WR Stephen Hill, who was drafted by the Jets in the second round of this year's draft, agreed to a 4-year deal worth around $5M, which includes $2.8M in guaranteed money. The Gang Green traded up to select Hill, giving up 5th and 7th round picks to move up four spots in the second round to select him.
