The New York Jets quarterbacks, Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow, finished first and second in the NFL's most overrated players poll conducted by the Sports Illustrated among 180 league players. Tebow was a runaway winner with 34% of the vote, while Sanchez shared the second place with Dallas' QB Tony Romo - both received 8% of the vote. Rounding out the top five in the overrated poll were Philadelphia's QB Michael Vick (4%), and Baltimore's LB Ray Lewis (3%).
The loss against the New England Patriots seemed to have barely affected the Jets' position in power rankings. CBS Sports has the Gang Green at #23, just like last week. ESPN, ProFootballTalk and ProFootballWeekly all moved Rex Ryan's team one place down, while FOX Sports countered with a 3-point gain (from #18 to #15).

The Jets tried their best, they almost did it, but their effort just wasn't enough to overcome the New England Patriots. The Gang Green had a 3-point lead with two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but first the defense allowed the Pats to tie the game and take it to overtime, and then QB Mark Sanchez fumbled the game away in the extra period.

NT Kenrick Ellis (knee), NT Sione Po'uha (low back), RB Bilal Powell (shoulder) and S Eric Smith (knee) are all listed as doubtful for the upcoming game against the New England Patriots. Although it's pretty certain that Powell won't suit up on Sunday. WR Clyde Gates (shoulder), C Nick Mangold (ankle), and RB Joe McKnight (ankle) are listed as questionable. Despite being listed as questionable, McKnight missed practice again on Friday and his status will be a game time decision. S LaRon Landry (heel), who missed Thursday's practice, returned to full participation Friday and was listed as probable.

After falling in power rankings for three straight weeks, the New York Jets finally climbed a few spots back up. Fox Sports, ProFootballTalk and ProFootballWeekly all placed the Jets in the top 20. Fox Sports, who rated the Jets lower than all the other websites a week ago, moved Rex Ryan's team nine places up to #18. ESPN moved the Gang Green two spots up - from $25 to #23. Finally, CBS Sports apparently didn't think much of the Jets' win against the Colts, as the Gang Green moved only from #24 to #23 on their chart.
RB Shonn Greene ran for 161 yards and 3 touchdowns, QB Mark Sanchez played a mistake free game, as the New York Jets routed the Indianapolis Colts, 35-9, and moved back up to .500. The defense came to play as well, creating four turnovers and limiting the Colts to just 27% on third downs and only 41 rushing yards. These seemed like the throwback Jets' of Rex Ryan's first two seasons in New York - a powerful running attack with a serviceable quarterback whose job was to make plays from time to time and avoid mistakes.

Another week, another loss, as the New York Jets continued spiraling down the NFL power rankings ladder. Three out of the five websites valued the Gang Green lower than a week ago. ESPN had them down at #25 (#22 a week ago), CBS Sports lowered their stock to #24 (#22 a week ago) and ProFootball Weekly placed the Jets at #22 (#21 last week). FOX Sports kept rex Ryan's team at #27 (lowest of them all), while ProFootballTalk figured that the spirited loss to the top ranked Texans deserved a raise - up to #21 from #22 last week.

The humiliating loss at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers pummeled the Jets' stock in power rankings, as the Gang Green dropped out of the top 20 in all five polls. Fox Sports was absolutely merciless, placing the Jets at #27 (#19 a week ago), while the other four websites were pretty much in agreement on their valuation of the Gang Green. ESPN had them at #23 (#17 a week ago), CBS Sports placed them at #22 (#15 last week), ProFootballTalk had them at #22 as well (#15 last week), and finally Pro Football Weekly put the Jets at #21 (#17 a week ago).
