Jets keep climbing up despite not playing

Admin - November 13, 2013

Rex Ryan predicted a loss during the bye week but it now looks like he got it all wrong, as the New York Jets climbed even higher in power rankings. Four out of five websites placed Rex Ryan's team higher in their power rankings than in the previous week. Both ESPN and Fox Sports moved the Gang Green up from #14 to #12, which is the highest they have been this season. ProFootballTalk put the Jets at #11, up from #14 last week. CNN SI placed them at #13, up from #14. Only CBS Sports kept the Gang Green's rankings unchanged - #14, just like a week ago.

Here's what all these websites had to say about the Jets:

ESPN: The Jets rushed for a season-high 198 yards in a Week 9 win over the Saints. Don't change the approach, as the previous high came against Week 11 opponent Buffalo.

FOX Sports: I've been down on the Jets for most of the season, but the way I see it, the Jets make the playoffs as the 6th seed.

CBS Sports: They come out of their bye week with a real shot to be a factor in the playoff race. Can they get some consistency?

ProFootballTalk: Adversity only kicks the Jets’ ass in the even weeks.

CNN SI: If the Jets are going to bank on their defense to get them to the playoffs, the schedule sure sets up nicely. Carolina (17th in points scored) is the most prolific attack they'll face. The 20th-, 21st-, 22nd-, 26th- and 29th-ranked offenses also await.
