Jets sign first round pick Calvin Pryor

Admin - June 2, 2014

The New York Jets have announced that they signed S Calvin Pryor, their first round pick, to a 4-year rookie contract. He became the Gang Green's 11th draft selection to sign a contract. Third round pick, CB Dexter McDougle, remains the only unsigned Jets' draft pick.

Pryor, 5'11", 207 lbs, was selected at #18 overall to fill in one of the big voids in the Jets' secondary. He is the second-fastest 1st round pick of the Jets to sign his contract since TE Anthony Becht (May 26, 2000) and LB Quinton Coples (May 17, 2012).

Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed yet. It's expected to be similar to what last year's 18th pick overall, S Eric Reid, received from the 49ers - $8.398M contract that included a $4.547M signing bonus.

Last week Pryor was forced to sit out team drills during OTAs because of his wisdom teeth.
