Power rankings: Jets move up again, reach top 10

Admin - December 10, 2015

It's another win and another step, or a few, up the power rankings ladder for the New York Jets. After beating their crosstown rivals, the New York Giants, Todd Bowles' team is back in the top 10 in 3 of 5 power rankings that we're tracking. The overtime win against the Giants gave the Jets a pretty big boost in ProFootballTalk's rankings, moving them 5 spots up - from #15 to #10. ESPN and FOX Sports placed the Gang Green at #10 as well (up from #12 and #13 respectively). CBS Sports kept them just out of the top 10 - the Jets are at #11 there, which is up 2 spots compared to last week. Finally, Yahoo Sports gave them the lowest ranking - at #12, also 2 spots higher than last week.

Here's what the power rankings websites had to say about the Jets:

ESPN: The Jets currently hold the No. 6 seed but they need to capitalize on their next games. They get the 3-9 Titans at home and then take on the Tony Romo-less Cowboys.

FOX Sports: When in doubt, Ryan Fitzpatrick throws it up to a point where only Brandon Marshall can get it, and the veteran wide receiver has done the rest.

CBS Sports: The Jets would be in the playoffs if they started today. Ryan Fitzpatrick is playing good football.

ProFootballTalk: If the season ended today, they’d make the playoffs. When the season actually ends, they won’t.

Yahoo Sports: I'm going to share a secret. We're all friends here, right? Nobody's going to mad? OK. I really want the Steelers to make the playoffs over the Jets. Sorry Jets, it would be more fun that way.
