Jets sign Shepherd to a 4-year deal

The New York Jets have signed third-round choice DT Nathan Shepherd to a 4-year deal. He became the fourth of six 2018 picks to agree to a deal, leaving #3 overall selection QB Sam Darnold and 4th round TE Chris Herndon as the only unsigned draft picks.

Shepherd, 6'4", 315 lbs, grew up in Canada and started his college career as a linebacker at Simon Fraser University. He had to drop out after one year as he could no longer afford tuition. He returned to school at Fort Hays State in 2015 and moved to defensive line.
