The Gang Green kept bolstering their offensive line in later rounds, as they drafted two more linemen. OT Oday Aboushi from Virginia was selected in the fifth round (#141 overall) and OG William Campbell from Michigan was chosen in the sixth (#178 overall). In the final round, the Jets picked FB Tommy Bohanon from Wake Forest.

After selecting QB Geno Smith in the second round, the New York Jets filled a hole in their offensive line, as they picked OG Brian Winters from Kent State in the third round. The 6-4, 320-pound Winters played both tackle positions in college (34 starts at LT, 16 starts at RT), but he will compete for a starting guard spot with OG Vlad Ducasse. Winters lacks elite athleticism, but is regarded as a physical, punishing blocker that the Jets need after losing both starting guards in the offseason.
The New York Jets finally went offense in the second round, as they selected QB Geno Smith from West Virginia. Smith, 6'3", 218 lbs, has the size and ability to be a starter in the NFL. In his senior year Smith threw for 4,205 yards, completing 71.2% of his passes, 42 TD, 6 INT. He appeared to be a leading candidate for the Heisman Trophy during a red-hot start to 2012, but then ran into significant issues in blowout losses to Texas Tech and Kansas State.
After trading CB Darrelle Revis a few days ago to Tampa Bay, the New York Jets didn't waste time finding his potential replacement. The Gang Green selected CB DeMarcus "Dee" Milliner from Alabama at #9 overall. Milliner, 6', 201 lbs, has both size and speed (4.37) to defend against NFL receivers.
Following the trade of Darrelle Revis to Tampa Bay, the New York Jets now have two selections in the first round of today's NFL Draft - #9 and #13 overall. So, let's take a look at the final predictions from around the web:
In just 20 days the New York Jets will be on the clock in the 2013 NFL Draft. They have seven selections, including #9 overall, and so many holes to fill. The new GM John Idzik has stated that the draft will be the team's priority in rebuilding the squad that has gone from two championship game appearances in a row to a top 10 draft pick. So, let's take a look at who various sports websites have the Jets select in the first round of their mock drafts.
The Gang Green addressed another need in Round 3, as they selected OLB Demario Davis from Arkansas State at #77 overall. Davis, 6'2", 235 lbs, is a fast linebacker who ran 40 yards in 4.53 seconds at the scouting combine. He recorded 229 tackles (129 solo) in his NCAA career and had 10 tackles for loss and 3 sacks in 2011.

The New York Jets made a trade with the Seattle Seahawks in Round 2 to select WR Stephen Hill from Georgia Tech. Hill, 6'4", 215 lbs, is projected to be the deep threat that the Jets' offense has lacked since the departure of WR Braylon Edwards. He ran 40 yards in 4.36 seconds at the scouting combine and averaged almost 30 yards per reception in his last NCAA season. Hill caught 15 passes for 291 yards, 3 TD in 2010 and then broke through in 2011 with 28 receptions for 820 yards, 5 TD.

The New York Jets went defense in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, as they selected DE Quinton Coples from North Carolina at #16 overall. Coples, who will turn 22 later this year, was named a first team All-ACC selection in 2010 and 2011. He recorded 59 tackles and 10 sacks in 2010 as a junior. Then, in 2011 Coples registered 55 tackles and 7.5 sacks. He ranked 4th in the country among active players with 24 career sacks and left UNC with 144 total tackles, 5 forced fumbles, 22 quarterback hurries and 4 pass breakups.

The New York Jets selected two more offensive players in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL Draft. QB Greg McElroy from Alabama and WR Scotty McKnight from Colorado became last two players chosen by the Gang Green.
After selecting two defensive players on the first two days of the 2011 NFL Draft, the New York Jets went offense in rounds four and five. They selected RB Bilal Powell from Louisville in round 4 (#126 overall), and then traded up with Philadelphia to select WR Jeremy Kerley from TCU in round 5 (#153 overall). In order to get Kerley, the Gang Green gave up their 5th round pick (#161 overall) and 6th round pick (#194 overall) in exchange for the Eagles' 5th round pick (#153 overall) and 7th round pick (#227 overall).
The New York Jets continued rebuilding their defensive line on Day 2 of the 2011 NFL Draft, as they selected DT Kenrick Ellis from Hampton with their 3rd round pick (#94 overall). Ellis, 6'5", 346 lbs is a good run stopper who has the size to play nose tackle. He recorded 15 tackles for loss in both his senior and junior years.
The first round of the 2011 NFL Draft is behind us and it seems like general opinion of the Jets' pick, DE/DT Muhammad Wilkerson, has mostly been positive. The junior from Temple is expected to start from day one and add to one area where the Gang Green have struggled the last few years - pass-rush. Let's take a look at what various media outlets had to say about the Jets' first round selection.
The New York Jets selected DT Muhammad Wilkerson from Temple in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Wilkerson, 6'4", 315 lbs was projected to go late in the first round. He recorded 9.5 sacks in 12 games in 2010 and 7.0 sacks in 2009.
The New York Jets have signed 4th round draft selection RB Joe McKnight to a 4-year deal worth around $2.36M. McKnight, 5'11", 194lbs, was selected 112th overall by the Jets in the April draft. He played in 36 games, including 13 starts, during his 3 seasons at USC.
The New York Jets made another trade in the 2010 NFL Draft, as they sent RB Leon Washington to the Seattle Seahawks along with their #236 overall pick (7th round) for Seattle's #139 overall (5th round) and selected FB John Conner from Kentucky.
After staying put on the first two days of the 2010 NFL Draft, the New York Jets traded up in the 4th round to select RB Joe McKnight from USC. The Gang Green made a trade with Carolina and selected McKnight at #114 overall. The Jets gave up their #124 overall (4th round) and #198 overall (6thround). McKnight, 5'11", 198 lbs, played in 12 games for USC in 2009, gaining 1,014 yards on 164 carries, 8 TDs.
The New York Jets selected OG Vladimir Ducasse from the University of Massachusetts with their #61 overall pick in the second round. Ducasse, 6'4", 334lbs, has relatively little experience playing football, as he began playing only in 2003 after arriving in the Unisted States from Haiti. The University of Massachusetts product, however, compensates his lack of experience with great work ethic and athleticism.
The New York Jets selected CB Kyle Wilson from Boise State with their #29 overall selection in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Wilson, 5'10", 194 lbs, is one of the best cornerbacks in the Draft and is a nice addition to the strong Jets' secondary that already features CB Darrelle Revis and CB Antonio Cromartie.
The Gang Green used their last pick (#193 overall, 6th round) in the 2009 NFL Draft on OG Matt Slauson from Nebraska. Slauson, 6'5", 315 lbs is expected to be a backup who could potentially grow into a starting role.
The New York Jets continued dealing and wheeling on Day 2 of the 2009 NFL Draft as they traded their 3rd (#76 overall), 4th (#115 overall) and 7th (#228 overall) round picks in exchange for the Detroit Lions' 3rd round pick (#65 overall) to select RB Shonn Greene from the University of Iowa.
The New York Jets traded their #17 overall pick, their second round pick (#57 overall), DE Kenyon Coleman, S Abram Elam and QB Brett Ratliff for Cleveland Browns' #5 overall and selected QB Mark Sanchez from USC.
