Whether it is cool or queer to say we is another discussion. I have been in involved in those discussions in the past. My query was due to the fact you root for teams all over the country. I could not assume you root for your local baseball team.
Braves announcers: 1: "Would you be one of those guys who say we shouldn't judge pitchers by won/loss record?" 2: "No, I don't know how else you would judge them." Then he repeated that there's no other way to judge them. 1: "We all hate the quality start term. Some would say give me five pitchers who throw 200 innings." lol. Amount of innings is highly dependent on health. How about judging pitchers by ERA, or WHIP, or ERA+ (ERA compared to league average, adjusted for park effects)? Guess these guys have never heard of such advanced stats.
That's respectable. I like baseball, but I'm no die-hard by any means, so I could never keep up with a team outside of what I can see locally. I've tried to follow other teams, but I just keep it simple with the Brew.
http://mlb.si.com/2014/04/26/video-jean-segura-bat-hit-head-ryan-braun-brewers/ oh, and Braun also got injured himself later in the game.
Way too many injuries. Prince, Fernandez, Abreu, Lee, Gallardo, Aramis, Uribe, Perez, Votto, belt, Posey, Hart, Pagan, Crisp, dArnaud, Gio, Zimmerman's thumb not healing well, Wieters, Cashner, the Rangers, the Reds, Beltran, Doubront, Middlebrooks, CC, infante, to name a few. Yet somehow the Rockies are one do the league's healthiest.
yep, when I saw the thread bumped, that was what I was going to post So many big time players injured. Seems like someone else on the DL every day.
Wacha leaves game after getting hit by a Matt Adams foul ball in the elbow. Diagnosed as contusion.Cain leaves game with hamstring injury.
Casilla hurt running to first, Springer sustained a hip flexor strain trying to avoid getting picked off.
http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on...oes-proof-that-hitting-with-risp-isnt-a-skill Clutch hitting is pretty random, kinda like bullpens. oh, and Prince Fielder is now out for the season http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/season-ending-surgery-fielder-article-1.1802591
I don't know why, but I didn't even see this sub section of the forum until very recently lol...Pretty big blow for the rangers and my fantasy team :/. Guy missed 1 game in the last 5 seasons goes down for the rest of the year.
Best way to follow baseball: You don't even need to pay for mlb.tv They let everyone watch condensed games (might need a free mlb.com account). The condensed games are posted several hours after the actual game is finished, and they're edited to be 20 minutes or less. http://mlb.mlb.com/mediacenter/index.jsp?c_id=mlb
