Watching SNY post game with Ray Lucas is usually the highlight of any Jets loss. I actually only watch the games this season to get to the post game. With that being said, they had a former Jet on, Chad Cascadden, who I vaguely remember as a Special Teams superstar. After the game I looked more into what he is doing these days and he is VP of an insurance company http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chad_Cascadden . I think this guy would make a good GM. He was with the Jets for two of their most memorable seasons 1-15 under Kotite and the 12-4 under the Tuna. The point being that he probably has seen what the talent makeup of both teams looks like and the makeup of a coaching staff. (If you never have take a look at who was on the coaching staff in 1998) Anyway if we all get our wish, and have Idzhik thrown out of town, I think Cascadden would be a good fit.
He's a VICE PRESIDENT of a NYSE insurance company? Holy shit, there's probably only one of them, right? How would we ever steal that guy. What happens if the PRESIDENT of that NYSE insurance company is assasinated or impeached? Won't Chad need to be sworn in or something and take over? Holy shit. VICE PRESIDENT? Impressive. _
I am all for Eli Wolf assistant GM of the Packers. Not only was his father, Ron Wolf one of ours but he also wanted Brett Favre so bad that he traded for him (as Packers GM) after he convinced our own GM to trade up for Favre (Cardinals balked at last minute).
Holy stupidity. Cascadden should go be the GM of the Osh Kosh B'Gosh's if he wants front office experience.
I kind of disagree on Chad. I don't see him ever saying anything original (like Ray does agree with him or not), anyways I haven't been impressed with him on the air. If Woody chose him to be the next GM with no NFL front office experience he would get killed by everyone. If he does change GMs then get someone respected in the league and give them control over the coaching and front office staffs and stay out of things. I'd keep Idzik but I can understand the anger. And I wouldn't cry any tears for him if (and when) he leaves.
Do you not realize that basically every ex pro athlete with even a modicum of intelligence is a VP (probably of Sales) at a major insurance, brokerage or financial institution in the town/city where they played in the pros, college or HS? VP is nearly the lowest position you can have at a major insurance, brokerage or financial institution and there are literally hundreds or thousands of them in the biggest firms. Lol. _
Search the interwebs and find me one before you make blanket statements. Geeze im getting hammered on here!! All I'm saying is that the guy has brains, was an overachiever, is well spoken, and knows a thing or too about managing people. And has experienced the ups and downs of the franchise.
My godson played in the NFL for 3 years and is a VP now at Merrill. Do you not understand what a VP of Sales does at a large insurance, brokerage or financial institution? Do you not understand how the title of Vice Predident is handed out like sticks of gum at major financial institutions? Here you go. 2 second search. http://www.businessinsider.com/best-football-players-on-wall-street-2013-6?op=1 _
All very impressive especially the ones with Ivy League background, I would take them as my GM before the guy we have in a heartbeat.
The only reason I am not more adamant about canning Idzik is I don't trust Johnson to hire his replacement.
Idzik was the only one that would take the job according to Wouldy's dictates. The ol' Catch-22 Wouldy Johnson Joint But it's "Idzik's fault". (not saying you) It's looking like no QB and a discombobulated roster that's been juggled together. What a disaster
Side note. I work with Mike Horan, former punter. He's a lowly sales guy like me at a software company.
