There are commissioner options that allow you to set the keepers for each them. Then those players are removed from the draft pool. All this is moot though for year one. During year one, every player is available since the league just started.
I hope so. Draft should be after the third preseason game so all the starters are out. We still haven't decided on certain things. Keeper? Dynasty? Client?
So let me get this straight, since I just got caught up on the difference. Keeper we draft full teams, and it's intended to keep going for next season and the season after that? If so, we would have to make sure everybody who joins is a frequent board member so we don't have complications where guys drop out. Also, that would mean not to draft older good veterans early (Brees, maybe?) with the idea that they may not be around for many more seasons? Just curious. Never done it like this. Sounds cool though. I'm definitely down for yahoo.
Keeper you select a certain number of players (tbd) to carry over to the next year and there's a new draft minus the kept players every year. Dynasty you keep your entire team and there's just a rookie draft.
That's the basic concept of it, yes. Keeper league is intended to keep a certain amount of predetermined players (1 - 7 is what I normally see). The difference between Dynasty and Keeper is that Dynasty is built for the future. You keep your entire roster year to year. So in year two, you do a draft that just consists of the incoming rookies where as in a keeper you do a draft with all the unkept players and the incoming rookies.
In the dynasty league I'm in you can also draft from the waiver wire, for example someone drafted Sam Bradford off the wire this year because an owner last year cut him.
Well dynasty, or keeper I don't care, but I would like everyone's input. I don't think we have enough people yet either.
I vote keeper because there's at least some variation year to year but not too much. P.S. It doesn't seem like we have enough people yet. I think it's partially because theres probably many people who would want to but simply don't check or forget that theres a fantasy football section in this board lol. I wish this thread could be made a temporary sticky or something on the main board so more people could maybe come across it.
The main page will show this thread if it's a top 5 most recent thread though. So the more we post in it, the more people might see it. I think it's about time we make the league. Just because I made the thread, doesn't mean I have to make the league. I don't really care about that.
