Anybody notice the lack of the American Flag or anything that resembles it.
Not physically on the stage, logo, backdrop or any of the official signage throughout the arena.

Kind of looked like a stage from some Sci Fi convention.

We don't need flags spaced every 3 feet to remind us who and where we are. We know we're all Americans.

There's also a 4-mile 8-foot high metal one around the whole thing. They are building bridges, however. I am sure the Islamic nutjobs who just beheaded a priest in France appreciate that.

Chances are pretty good that some Islamic Nutjob won't be able to behead anyone at the DNC fence or no fence. Chances are better for a American nutjob with an AR-15 might try to shoot up the place if they could get in. Still not the same thing as a 2000mi border fence.

I think Hadrian's Wall worked for several centuries in Britain. Atilla managed to get around the Great Wall so I'm not so sure Trump's multi billion dollar monument to his ego is gonna get a lot of ROI.

You might want to take a look at how much illegal immigration costs annually. It won't stop all illegal immigration but it will help quite a bit.

I am not so sure about the Bernie crew, they pretty much embody and support everything that goes against the founding principles of this country.

Nobody needs it every 3 feet, but not a single flag makes it seem they are ashamed of it or want to distance themselves from anything that symbolizes American Freedom.

That's on the platform. They were all talking about it.

The party who never evolved beyond offering free pizza parties to win 6th grade class president. Well, maybe they have some new tactics, like calling everyone racist and sexist and bigot.

FWIW, I'm of the opinion that 'the wall' doesn't have to be entirely a physical structure--It could be a series of processes that result in the reduction of illegal activity at the border.

Therefore, I consider arguments against a massive brick or metal barrier straw-man arguments.

that's interesting except the guy proposing it hasn't made that argument. Until he does, discussion of a massive physical barrier is absolutely fair game

Trump estimated 10-12 billion. Washington post estimated closer to 25 billion.

25 billion dollars on a massive wall that might slow some illegal immigration. sounds like a great plan. reducing the cost of college tuition is just absurd though.

$25 billion exceeds NASA's budget btw and its too low of an estimate anyway. A single aircraft carrier costs like $10 billion and takes years to make. A 2,000 mile wall is certainly going to cost a hell of a lot more than that in both money and time

yep, while joe's biden his time, and gettin ready to knock out that toilet of hers... : )

On a more serious note Cman, what is it with people in power that their out-of-touch egos can't allow them to read the tea leaves and head for the door when it should be as plain as the nose on their face? Even after the email fallout and being dropped like a hot potato, Wasserman-Schultz still insisted on addressing the Florida delegation, i.e. "her people" thinking it would represent a safe bet. Wrong. And even after the natives started booing her off stage, Wasserman-Schultz's bullheaded ego still refused to yield and instead she starts scolding the pissed off group to "settle down!" like some school teacher talking to a bunch of 10 year olds. What part of "game over" is lost on this woman?

I'm so done with the Bernie Babies and their temper tantrums. They are perhaps the most naive group of American voters in the last 25 years. They make Nader's Raiders and Kusinich's bunch seem like old political pros. Maybe if they weren't so young and perhaps lived a bit longer they would "get it". Nothing in life is free. NOTHING.. That's gonna be a really hard lesson for the Bernie Babies to learn..

To their credit, the DNC did have someone actually sing the NA with style and class instead of all the adlibs we see at sports venues. I'm sure there's an American Flag in the bldg. somewhere as its highly doubtful the DNC would order all American Flags be banned or removed.

If DWS had to speak (and I think that was the batshit crazy option), she should have stood up and OWNED what she did. Apologize directly to Sen. Sanders and the Bernie Babies. Show some remorse and humility. She would have come out smelling better than she did. By showing this much ego, she really hurt her own re-election chances and by doing that, hurt the Dems chances of regaining control of the Senate. #BadMoveDebbie
