Andrew Beaton on X: "New: After the NFL previously said it wouldn’t play on Christmas this year because the holiday is on a Wednesday, the league is calling an audible. Christmas NFL will be back this year, with games played by teams that played the previous Saturday. https://t.co/bCUZ8P7hjp" / X (twitter.com)
If I actually turn on the tv that day, aside from playing holiday music it'll be to watch Christmas Story for the 5965th time, or the Knicks....
It will be interesting to see how the NBA will react to this. Will they try to avoid the NFL game times as much as possible, or will they just accept that last year's tremendous drop in ratings when up against the NFL is just going to be the way it is?
They better avoid it. No disrespect to the NBA, MLB, or NHL but the NFL is king in this country when it comes to sports. It's been that way for a long time and I don't see it changing anytime soon if it ever does. Even CFB is big business as well.
What about Christmas Eve? Jets vs Ravens 12/24/2000, Jermaine Lewis, PAIN. Oh, right, Jets vs Washington 12/24/2024, the Jets won and I didn't even care enough to get drunk one way or the other.
