Ewbank Chosen & Jets to Titans

Weeb Ewbank, who had been released by Baltimore, was named head coach and general manager of the team. On the same day the new owners changed the name from Titans to Jets.

Boston upended Jets 38-14 in the opener at Boston College.
First Win as Jets
September 22, 1963
Jets won their first game under new ownership as they defeated Houston 24-17 at the Polo Grounds in the home opener. Marshall Starks set AFL record with 97-yard TD return of a missed field goal.
