Joe Namath had his finest day, throwing for 496 yards and six touchdowns as the Jets defeated Baltimore 44-34. Namath and John Unitas set an NFL combined record for passing yardage - 872.

Rushing Mark

October 15, 1972
Jets set Club rushing record of 333 yards as a team and defeated Patriots, 41-13. John Riggins (168 yards) and Emerson Boozer (150) became first tandem in history to hit the 150-yard mark in a game.

Maynard Sets Record

December 11, 1972
Don Maynard became pro football's all-time receiving leader with his 632nd career catch. The historic grab came in the fourth quarter at Oakland. Namath passed for 403 yards, but Jets were eliminated from race.
