    <item><title><![CDATA[Garrard Calls It Quits]]></title><description><![CDATA[<p><strong>QB David Garrad's</strong> tenure with the New York Jets turned out to be a short one, as the quarterback reportedly called it quits today citing a knee injury. &quot;Having to call it quits,&quot; Garrard wrote in a text to NFL.com's Adam Schein. &quot;My knee is not holding up. The 6-4, 320-pound Winters played both tackle positions in college (34 starts at LT, 16 starts at RT), but he  will compete for a starting guard spot with <strong>OG Vlad Ducasse</strong>. Smith, 6'3&quot;, 218 lbs, has the size and ability to be a starter in the NFL. In his senior year Smith threw for 4,205 yards, completing 71.2% of his passes, 42 TD, 6 INT.
