According to ESPN, San Francisco 49ers president Jed York is dropping the team's tampering charge against the New York Jets over WR Michael Crabtree. The 49ers filed tampering charges with the NFL regarding their negotiations with 1st round draft pick Crabtree. Deion Sanders, a former All Pro cornerback, said he knew two teams that were willing to pay Crabtree what he wanted while he was holding out from the Niners. The 49ers investigated and filed the charge against the Jets.
After last week's debacle against the Denver Broncos, the New York Jets continued their free fall this afternoon, as they lost to the 4-8 San Francisco 49ers. With Miami and New England both winning today's games, the Gang Green are now in a 3-way tie for the first place in the AFC East.
