Early this morning the New York Jets acquired WR Braylon Edwards from the Cleveland Browns - a tall speedy wide receiver that the Jets have been looking for since Rex Ryan took over as head coach. The addition of Edwards gives the Gang Green a proven vertical threat that basically makes the offense complete. The Jets now have two viable options at wide receiver, Edwards and Cotchery, an up and coming pass-catching tight end in Dustin Keller, along with two Pro Bowl running backs in the backfield. The presence of Edwards should also help the running game, as defenses will have to respect the Jets' deep passing attack.
According to various sources, another trade between the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns might be in the works. The Jets are reportedly looking to trade disgruntled RB Thomas Jones for Cleveland's WR Braylon Edwards.
