According to various sources, LB Jason Taylor has agreed in principle to sign a contract with the New York Jets, the team he so often bad mouthed in the past. ESPN's Adam Schefter writes it's a 2-year deal worth $13.75M, but the second year is irrelevant. So, it's really a 1-year, $3.75M contract.
The New York Jets played basically a mistake free game, as they defeated the Cincinnati Bengals on the road, 24-14, and are through to the Divisional Playoffs. Both rookies, QB Mark Sanchez and RB Shonn Greene, played pivotal roles in this great win. Sanchez, battling both single degree wind chills and playoff pressure, performed admirably. He completed 12 of 15 passes for 182 yards, 1 TD and 0 INT. He became the first rookie quarterback who completed over 70% of his passes in a playoff game. Greene ran for 135 yards on 21 carries (6.4 yards per carry) and scored the first Jets' touchdown on a 39-yard run in the second quarter.
The New York Jets have eight players on the official injury report. NT Kris Jenkins (back), DT Sione Pouha (ankle), WR Wallace Wright (hamstring) are all listed as questionable. QB Kellen Clemens (right elbow), DE Mike Devito (hamstring), RB Shonn Greene (rib), LB Bryan Thomas (ankle), LB Jamaal Westerman (quadricep) are listed as probable.
With less than 48 hours left until the season opener, the Jets currently have 6 players on their injured list. DE Mike DeVito is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. He's been limited in practice the last two days. QB Kellen Clemens (elbow), RB Shonn Greene (ribs), LB Bryan Thomas (ankle), WR Wallace Wright (knee) are all listed as probable and have fully participated in practice sessions this week. TE Dustin Keller was added to the injury list with a toe problem, but practiced and should be ready to go on Sunday. Also, if you follow Keller's updates on twitter (or the feed we have on this website), he is going to the Yankee game tonight (if the rain stops) along with QB Mark Sanchez and S Kerry Rhodes. So, apparently his toe is not bothering him that much.

The new era in the history of the New York Jets will begin on Sunday when rookie head coach Rex Ryan and rookie QB Mark Sanchez will lead the team against the Houston Texans. The Gang Green are 4.5 to 5 point underdogs, facing a team that's expected to make the playoffs for the first time in their history. Ryan is one of nine rookie head coaches this season. Mark Sanchez will become the first Jets rookie quarterback to start since Matt Robinson started on November 13, 1977 against the Seattle Seahawks. The New York Jets have gone 491 consecutive games without starting a rookie quarterback, the longest current streak in the NFL. Robinson started just one game in 1977 - a 20-23 loss to the Steelers where he went 7 of 19 for 80 yards, 1 TD, 3 INT.
