According to a report from CBS Sports, the New York Jets will explore options to trade CB Darrelle Revis this offseason. Revis, who has one year left on his contract, will be most likely be demanding the biggest contract for a cornerback in the league, which is something that the Jets just cannot afford. So, the Gang Green will try to get value for Revis now rather than risk losing him as an unrestricted free agent in 2014. There's a clause in Revis' contract that does not allow the Jets to franchise him, so the Jets will either have to re-sign him (mission impossible) or get as much value for him as they can.

This wasn't just another must win game with a playoff berth on the line, but another must win game against the cross-town rivals, the New York Giants, whose season also depended on the outcome of this contest. All the hype, pressure, trashtalking, big expectations in what was probably the biggest, most anticipated game of the season - they lost it, just like many Jets teams before them. These were the Same Old Jets all over again. The Same Old Jets that comfortably led two AFC Championship Games, among many other must-wins, only to find another way to lose.

LB David Harris was named AFC Defensive Player of Week 9. Last Sunday he registered five tackles, one interception and one pass defensed in the Jets’ 27-11 win at Buffalo. Harris registered his second interception of the season and the fourth of his career when he picked off QB Ryan Fitzpatrick in the second quarter at the Jets’ 49-yard line. In his fifth season from Michigan, this is Harris’ second career Defensive Player of the Week Award. Harris previously won the award in 2009 (Week 1). He joins CB Antonio Cromartie (Week 2) and CB Darrelle Revis (Week 6) as the third Jet to win Defensive Player of the Week this season.

The New York Jets have declared QB Kevin O'Connell, WR Logan Payne, S Emanuel Cook, RB Bilal Powell, OT Caleb Schlauderaff, OL Rob Turner and NT Kenrick Ellis inactive for today's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Rookies Powell and Ellis are inactive for the second time this season.

MLB David Harris, WR Santonio Holmes and S Eric Smith were all limited in practice this week but are expected to play on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Harris, who's been nursing a toe injury all week, dressed for practice today and went through individual drills, but as soon as the team portion of practice began, he headed off to the side to work with the strength and conditioning staff. Holmes and Smith both participated in practice during the portion open to the media.

QB Mark Sanchez completed only 8 of his 16 passes for a total of 64 yards, 1 TD, but big plays on defense and special team were all that the Jets needed to defeat their crosstown rivals and win the inaugural Metlife Bowl, 17-3. CB Antonio Cromartie's 68-yard kickoff return to the GIants' 35-yard line gave the struggling Jets offense an excellent field position late in the second quarter. Six plays later Sanchez connected with WR Santonio Holmes on a 17-yard TD pass, which was Sanchez' longest completion of the night. This turned out to be the game winning score, as the Gang Green took a 7-3 lead.

The New York Jets just announced that MLB David Harris was given a contract extension. The team placed franchise tag on Harris back in Ferbuary, making his salary cap number for this year $10,190,000. The new deal will definitely lower this number, giving the Jets so much needed cap room to sign more players. The new deal is $36M for 4 years, which includes $29.5M in guaranteed money, which is the largest guaranteed amount in history for an inside linebacker.

According to ESPN.com, MLB David Harris signed his franchise tender Wednesday night, becoming the third player to do so in the past 24 hours. This comes at a time when the NFLPA has claimed the tags don't and won't exist. Harris' franchise number projects at between $10.1 and $10.5 million, depending on what the NFL determines, according to the source.

According to a report on ESPN.com, the New York Jets will most likely use their franchise tag on MLB David Harris whose contract expires at the end of this season. The linebacker franchise tag number last season was $9.6M, but Harris would obviously like a long-term deal. If franchise tags are allowed -- and the NFLPA plans to battle that -- the Jets will restrict the 27-year-old Harris but will allow starters WR Santonio Holmes and WR Braylon Edwards to test the free-agent market.
The Gang Green will look to rebound this Sunday on the road against the Detroit Lions (2-5). The team is pretty much healthy, as they have only four players on their final injury report. CB Darrelle Revis, LB David Harris, S Brodney Pool and LB Calvin Pace are all listed as probable and will suit up on Sunday. Harris missed practice on Wednesday after injuring his back while lifting weights earlier in the week. Pool was limited yesterday after colliding with Revis.

The New York Jets reached an agreement with OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson for a 6-year contract extension worth $60M. Ferguson had two years remaining on his initial contract, so he now will be tied to the Jets for eight years and $73.6M. The guaranteed money is $34.8M, which is a record for an offensive lineman.
The New York Jets listed 8 players as "probable" for the AFC Championship Game against the Indianapolis Colts. Although DE Shaun Ellis, who has a broken hand, is more "questionable" than "probable" for this game. Ellis will give it a go but he has trouble grabbing and if he feels he's hurting the team, he'll take himself out.
DE Shaun Ellis, FB Tony Richardson and RB Thomas Jones were back on the field today after missing yesterday's practice session. Ellis, who has a broken hand and a banged up knee, was limited. Richardson (rib) and Jones fully participated in the practice session.

CB Darrelle Revis and C Nick Mangold made the 2009 NFL All-Pro team. LB David Harris was selected to the second NFL All-Pro team. While Tennessee RB Chris Johnson was the only player to make the first team unanimously (50 votes), Revis received 48 of 50 votes and is in the first team along with Packers CB Charles Woodson. Mangold's All-Pro selection basically means that the Jets have the best center in the entire league.

The New York Jets have declared QB Kevin O'Connell, CB Donald Strickland, RB Chauncey Washington, LB Ryan Fowler, OG Matt Slauson, DE Ropati Pitoitua and LB Marques Murrell as inactive for today's Wild Card Game against the Cincinnati Bengals. QB Eric Ainge is #3 emergency quarterback.
MLB David Harris returned to practice this morning after missing Tuesday and Wednesday sessions. Harris, who suffered a sprained right ankle in last Sunday's game against the Bengals, worked with the first team and didn't show any signs of being hindered by the injury in the portion of practice open to the media. Although, the official injury report lists his participation in the session as limited.

The Jets are leading Tampa Bay 19-0 at halftime, as the defense completely dominated the first half. The Gang Green limited the struggling Buccaneers to just 15 total yards and no first downs. MLB David Harris had an interception on the first play from scrimmage that led to a Jets' field goal.

Mark Sanchez' remarkable rookie NFL campaign hit a big bump yesterday in New Orleans, as the Jets' rookie committed four costly turnovers, which resulted in 14 points for the home team. The Gang Green lost, 10-24, ending undefeated streaks for both Sanchez and head coach Rex Ryan, who lost his first game as an NFL head coach.

LB Jason Trusnik was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for games played the third week of the 2009 season (September 27-28). This is Trusnik’s first career Player of the Week Award. In the first quarter, he forced a fumble when he knocked the ball loose from Titans KR Ryan Mouton and recovered the ball at the Titans 19-yard line. The Jets scored five plays later to take a 14-0 lead. Through Week 3, Trusnik is tied for a team-high six tackles on special teams. The last Jet to win AFC Special Teams Player of the Week was RB/KR Leon Washington in 2008 (Week 11).

The New York Jets defeated the Tennessee Titans, 24-17, and improved to 3-0, marking their best start since 2004 when the Gang Green began the season 5-0. Unlike in the previous two games, however, there were quite a few alarming signs that definitely should be addressed this week in preparation for the New Orleans Saints. While the Jets were clear winners against Houston and New England, let's be honest and admit that yesterday's game could have easily gone either way.
The New York Jets improved to 3-0 as they defeated the Tennessee Titans, 24-17, in what seemed like a roller coaster where the Gang Green made big plays when they needed them. The Jets are 3-0 for the first time since 2004 when they started the season 5-0 under head coach Herman Edwards.

MLB David Harris has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for games played on NFL Kickoff 2009 Weekend (September 10, 13-14). He registered a team-high 12 tackles, one sack and one pass defended in a 24-7 road win against the Houston Texans. Harris helped limit the Texans’ offense to 183 total yards (145 passing yards, 38 rushing yards), as the Jets' defense did not allow an offensive touchdown for the first time since November 9, 2008 against the St. Louis Rams. In his third year from Michigan, this is Harris’ first career Player of the Week Award. The last Jets linebacker to be named AFC Defensive Player of the Week was LB Eric Barton in 2004 (Week 15).

Rex Ryan's heralded defense and rookie QB Mark Sanchez both made their debuts yesterday against the Houston Texans and both passed the first test. The new aggressive defense was able to completely shut down the Texans' offense that was ranked 3rd in the league last season. Mark Sanchez, meanwhile, did not play like a rookie at all. The 22-year old kid from USC showed great pocket awareness and composure. He was especially effective on third downs, and his ability to buy time with his feet is another thing that we haven't seen from a Jets quarterback in quite some time.

Head coach Rex Ryan got his first win last night against the New York Giants, as the Jets came from behind to defeat their cross-town rivals, 27-25. This was also the first game that QB Mark Sanchez played since being officially named the Jets' starting quarterback, and he played well. Sanchez looked better than in the first two games, as he showed plenty of poise, good decision making, ability to make tough throws and improvise on the fly. Sanchez went 13 of 20 for 149 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT.
Both MLB David Harris and QB Kellen Clemens left today's practice session early but for different reasons... Harris took S Jim Leonhard's helmet to the mouth while being on the sidelines. Initially it was reported that Harris lost some teeth, but head coach Rex Ryan did not confirm that during his press conference later. Clemens ran off the field about 15 minutes before the practice ended as his wife is expecting.
According to various reports, MLB David Harris will miss at least two to three weeks after having surgery on his injured groin. Harris, who leads the Jets with 52 tackles in his second season, had a procedure Wednesday to repair the injury.
The New York Jets have declared QB Brett Ratliff, TE Bubba Franks, WR David Clowney, LB David Harris, FS Eric Smith, CB Justin Miller, RB Marcus Mason, PK Mike Nugent inactive for Week 9.
All eyes were once again on QB Brett Favre as the 3-time NFL MVP played his first game in a New York Jets uniform. Favre played two series, throwing a touchdown pass to rookie TE Dustin Keller to cap the second Jets' possession of the game.
