According to various reports, the New York Jets released S Emanuel Cook earlier today. S Tracy Wilson will be elevated from practice squad to take Cook's place on the active roster. Cook was signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2009 and released before the start of the 2009 season. He was then briefly signed in 2010 and released again. Later that year Cook was re-signed by the Jets to a 3-year deal following the injury to safety S Jim Leonhard. Cook received no signing bonus, so his release won't cost the Jets anything in the future.
S James Ihedigbo, who got injured last Monday against the New England Patriots, is out for Sunday's game against Miami after missing practice all week. OT Damien Woody hasn't practiced this week either, but is expected to play. He's listed as questionable. Seven players are listed as probable, even though all of them fully participated in the practice session earlier today and are definitely expected to play.
