RB Shonn Greene, who spent his entire 4-year career with the New York Jets, has reportedly agreed to a 3-year $10M contract with the Tennessee Titans. The Jets drafted him in the 3rd round of the 2009 draft but he never really became a legitimate number one back to replace RB Thomas Jones. Greene rushed for 1,054 and 1,063 yards the last two seasons but hardly any showed any playmaking ability, averaging just 4.2 yards per carry over the course of his NFL career.

CB Antonio Cromartie and S LaRon Landry will represent the New York Jets at the Pro Bowl, as they both made the AFC squad as backups. Following the season-ending injury to CB Darrelle Revis, Cromartie became the Jets' premier shutdown corner and has performed admirably. He's defended 13 passes, intercepted 3 and returned one of his interceptions for a touchdown so far this season.
Once a bust is always a bust. LB Aaron Maybin, a former Buffalo first round pick who was deemed a bust before signing with the New York Jets last season and leading the team with six sacks, was cut by the Gang Green earlier today. After seemingly redeeming himself last season, Maybin struggled immensely in this year's campaign, recording just one tackle in eight games. He was inactive on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

The Jets tried their best, they almost did it, but their effort just wasn't enough to overcome the New England Patriots. The Gang Green had a 3-point lead with two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but first the defense allowed the Pats to tie the game and take it to overtime, and then QB Mark Sanchez fumbled the game away in the extra period.
RB Shonn Greene ran for 161 yards and 3 touchdowns, QB Mark Sanchez played a mistake free game, as the New York Jets routed the Indianapolis Colts, 35-9, and moved back up to .500. The defense came to play as well, creating four turnovers and limiting the Colts to just 27% on third downs and only 41 rushing yards. These seemed like the throwback Jets' of Rex Ryan's first two seasons in New York - a powerful running attack with a serviceable quarterback whose job was to make plays from time to time and avoid mistakes.

The annual Battle of New York wasn't much of a contest, as the New York Giants routed Rex Ryan's Jets, 26-3. For the second week in a row the Jets struggled on offense, managing to score just three points. It's only preseason but there are quite a few alarming signs that better be fixed sooner than later, or we might be looking at a 6-8 win season at best.

DT Mike DeVito and RB/KR Joe McKnight, both of whom missed last week's game against the Kansas City Chiefs, are listed as "probable" and expected to play tomorrow against the Eagles. McKnight will be back returning kickoffs where he was replaced last week by CB Antonio Cromartie. CB Marquice Cole will not play with a knee injury. He was injured during the Chiefs game, and returned to the game but has not practiced with the team this week.

RB/KR Joe McKnight, who leads the league in kickoff returns, and rookie NT Kenrick Ellis are among inactives for today's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. McKnight was listed as "questionable" for this game after injuring his elbow last Sunday. Ellis is a healthy scratch. He did not play well last week and DT Ropati Pitoitua will start in place of DT Mike DeVito who's out due to a knee injury.

OG Brandon Moore, who's listed as "questionable" for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs, said that he will play on Sunday despite missing all three practice sessions this week. If Moore cannot play, then OG Caleb Schlauderaff would replace him in the starting lineup. DT Mike DeVito is listed as "doubtful" is more like "out." Rex Ryan said there's a 75 percent chance that DeVito will not play against Kansas City. RB/KR Joe McKnight (elbow) along with DT Marcus Dixon (hip) were limited in practice today and are listed as questionable.McKnight, who leads the league in kickoff returns, will be a game-time decision.

RB Shonn Greene's three touchdown runs and QB Mark Sanchez's 4th quarter touchdown pass to WR Santonio Holmes propelled the Jets past the Washington Redskins and one step closer to making the playoffs. It wasn't pretty though as the game was rather even throughout the first three quarters. The Jets took the lead in the final quarter on a 30-yard TD pass from Sanchez to Holmes. Then, three plays later, LB Aaron Maybin sacked the quarterback forcing a fumble that was recovered on Washington's 9-yard line. Two plays later Greene scored his second touchdown of the game, sealing the deal.

RB LaDainian Tomlinson and rookie WR Jeremy Kerley will both miss today's game against the Buffalo Bills. FS Brodney Pool, who missed last couple of games, is active and will play. RB Joe McKnight will replace Tomlinson as the third round back, while WR Patrick Turner will take Kerley's place as #3 wide receiver.

We've been through this many times before, we've believed in this many times before and the Jets have failed just like this many times before. They did it again last night when in a must win game against the hated Patriots, they just failed to perform up to the level needed to be competitive. In the game that was expected to result in the shift of power in the AFC East, the crowned champ simply demolished the contender. Contrary to last week, when the Gang Green performed admirably against the Bills in every aspect of the game, this time they made crucial mistakes everywhere they could - offense, defense and special teams.

FS Brodney Pool, who started last week against the Buffalo Bills, will miss tonight's game against the New England Patriots due to a sprained MCL he suffered last Sunday. The other inactives are RB Bilal Powell, WR Eron Riley, NT Kenrick Ellis, QB Kevin O'Connell, DL Martin Tevaseu, TE Shawn Nelson inactive for Week 10. The Jets will carry 10 defensive backs into this game. There will be five active defensive lineman, as both Kenrick Ellis and Martin Tevaseu are inactive.

LB David Harris was named AFC Defensive Player of Week 9. Last Sunday he registered five tackles, one interception and one pass defensed in the Jets’ 27-11 win at Buffalo. Harris registered his second interception of the season and the fourth of his career when he picked off QB Ryan Fitzpatrick in the second quarter at the Jets’ 49-yard line. In his fifth season from Michigan, this is Harris’ second career Defensive Player of the Week Award. Harris previously won the award in 2009 (Week 1). He joins CB Antonio Cromartie (Week 2) and CB Darrelle Revis (Week 6) as the third Jet to win Defensive Player of the Week this season.

RB/KR Joe McKnight was named the AFC's Special Teams Player of the Month for October. He returned 11 kickoffs for 443 yards for the month, including a 107-yard kickoff-return touchdown against the Ravens, which was also the longest play in Jets' history. McKnight’s 40.3 kickoff return average in October was the highest in the NFL. In his second season from USC, this is McKnight’s first career Player of the Month Award. He joins KR Justin Miller (October of 2006), KR Brad Smith (December of 2010) and P Tom Tupa (November of 1999) as the only Jets to earn Special Teams Player of the Month honors.

Not many teams throw at CB Darrelle Revis, but the Miami Dolphins were stupid enough last night to do so on quite a few occasions. They paid the price, as Revis intercepted two passes and returned one of them 100 yards for a touchdown that turned out to be the game winner. Revis' pick six was crucial as it turned a potential 10-0 in favor of Miami into a 7-3 Jets' lead. It also completely changed the momentum in the first quarter when it seemed like the Dolphins were completely dominating the game on both sides of the football.

The New York Jets have four players listed as "out" on the final injury report for tonight's game against the Miami Dolphins. While WR Logan Payne has been out since the start of the season, CB Donald Strickland, CB Isaiah Trufant and DE Ropati Pitoitua all suffered injuries in the last game against New England. Both Trufant and Pitoitua, who registered his first career sack against the Pats, missed the entire week of practice. C Nick Mangold missed practice on Thursday and Friday, but did participate on Saturday on a limited basis. He's listed as "questionable."

Just like a week ago, despite playing pretty poorly, the Jets still had a chance at the end. Just like a week ago, the Gang Green blew it. This time, however, it wasn't QB Mark Sanchez who gave this chance away. It was Rex Ryan's heralded defense that simply could not make a stop when they had to. They didn't even have to stop Tom Brady and New England's high-powered passing attack, as the Patriots just kept running, easily gaining 5-6 yards on almost every carry. The Ravens did exactly the same in the final quarter a week ago and they were as successful. Can't stop a nose bleed, Bart Scott?

150 total yards, 7 first downs, 3 lost fumbles (2 returned for touchdowns), 1 interception returned for a touchdown - these are the stats put up by the Jets' offense last night in Baltimore. The only positive is that it probably cannot get any worse than that, although you never know when it comes to the New York Jets.

The Jets had all of their starters, except for rookie DE Muhammad Wilkerson, sit out tonight's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, as the coaching staff wanted to see their backups give it one last try to make the squad. QB Greg McElroy started the game and was expected to play at least three quarters but got sidelined with a thumb injury, which appeared to be rather serious. He will have an MRI tomorrow. While in the game, McElroy was just 3 of 6 for 29 yards.

WR Plaxico Burress took the field for the first time in 3 years and instantly silenced his doubters tonight. Gang Green's risky free agent acquisition started opposite of WR Santonio Holmes and caught 3 passes for 66 yards, including a 26-yard touchdown pass from QB Mark Sanchez in the final minute of the first half. The Jets went to Burress right from the start, as Sanchez connected with him on the first play from scrimmage for 20 yards.

According to DE Shaun Ellis' agent, the Jets have offered Ellis a 1-year deal for veteran's minimum $910K. Ellis, 34, has spent his entire career with the Jets after being drafted in the first round of the 2000 NFL Draft. He missed only 6 games in 11 seasons, registering 343 tackles, 72.5 sacks, 12 forced fumbles and 1 interception. Ellis' agent indicated that his client is currently weighing his options but would like nothing more than to end his career as a New York Jet.
The New York Jets have signed 4th round draft selection RB Joe McKnight to a 4-year deal worth around $2.36M. McKnight, 5'11", 194lbs, was selected 112th overall by the Jets in the April draft. He played in 36 games, including 13 starts, during his 3 seasons at USC.
The New York Jets made another trade in the 2010 NFL Draft, as they sent RB Leon Washington to the Seattle Seahawks along with their #236 overall pick (7th round) for Seattle's #139 overall (5th round) and selected FB John Conner from Kentucky.
After staying put on the first two days of the 2010 NFL Draft, the New York Jets traded up in the 4th round to select RB Joe McKnight from USC. The Gang Green made a trade with Carolina and selected McKnight at #114 overall. The Jets gave up their #124 overall (4th round) and #198 overall (6thround). McKnight, 5'11", 198 lbs, played in 12 games for USC in 2009, gaining 1,014 yards on 164 carries, 8 TDs.
