According to a report from CBS Sports, the New York Jets will explore options to trade CB Darrelle Revis this offseason. Revis, who has one year left on his contract, will be most likely be demanding the biggest contract for a cornerback in the league, which is something that the Jets just cannot afford. So, the Gang Green will try to get value for Revis now rather than risk losing him as an unrestricted free agent in 2014. There's a clause in Revis' contract that does not allow the Jets to franchise him, so the Jets will either have to re-sign him (mission impossible) or get as much value for him as they can.

LB/DE Vernon Gholston, arguably the biggest bust in the Jets' history, has been released by the Gang Green. Gholston, 24, was selected at #6 overall in the 2008 NFL Draft and expected to become the dominant pass-rusher that the Jets had not had since they traded DE John Abraham to the Falcons. It didn't take long, however, to realize that Gholston just wasn't the player the Jets hoped he would be. Despite being a projected started in the 2008 season, Gholston did not start a single game and recorded just 13 tackles (8 solo). The following two seasons weren't much better, as Vernon still hasn't registered a single sack in the NFL.
