The New York Jets have parted ways with their #1 WR Laveranues Coles. The Gang Green, reaching a compromise with Coles, who wanted to renegotiate his contract into a long-term deal the team wanted no part of, restructured Coles' contract to allow him to become an unrestricted free agent at 12:01 a.m. tomorrow.
After last week's debacle against the Denver Broncos, the New York Jets continued their free fall this afternoon, as they lost to the 4-8 San Francisco 49ers. With Miami and New England both winning today's games, the Gang Green are now in a 3-way tie for the first place in the AFC East.
QB Brett Favre shrugged off three interceptions and led the New York Jets on a late fourth quarter comeback against the Kansas City Chiefs, as the Gang Green struggled against one of the worst NFL teams for the second week in a row.

It all started well for the Jets, as CB David Barrett returned an interception for a touchdown to give the Jets an early 7-0 lead. This early success, however, was followed by a plethora of turnovers and horrendous play on defense, resulting in a 29-48 loss.

If someone thought that after Tom Brady's season-ending injury the New York Jets became the new powerhouse of the AFC East, their hopes came down crushing this afternoon as the Same Old Jets showed up to play. The Gang Green were thoroughly out outcoached and outplayed in basically every aspect of the game.

QB Brett Favre looked like the Brett Favre of old, as he threw two touchdown passes and led the New York Jets to a 20-14 victory against the Miami Dolphins. Favre finished the game 15 of 22, 194 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, with an impressive quarterback rating of 125.9.
All eyes were on Brett Favre this afternoon at Hofstra when the Gang Green took the field with the recently acquired future Hall of Fame quarterback. The bleachers were completely packed - fans even had to wait in line to get in. They sure weren't disappointed, as Favre took more reps than all the other quarterbacks combined.
