As a clear indication that availability of CB Lito Sheppard and CB Donald Strickland for Sunday's game against the Titans is a question mark, the New York Jets activated CB Marquice Cole from the practice squad and waived TE Matthew Mulligan from the 53-man roster. Both Sheppard and Strickland suffered inuries in the game against the Patriots. Lito Sheppard had a strained quad, while Strickland tweaked his right ankle. Their statuses for Sunday's game are uncertain at this time.

The New York Jets have signed recently released CB Marquice Cole to practice squad and released TE Jack Simmons from practice squad. Cole was released earlier this week to make room for DE Shaun Ellis who was suspended for Week 1. Simmons had plenty of chances to make the team but drops in preseason games basically sealed his fate. He was released on the final roster cutdown day and then signed to practice squad.

DE Shaun Ellis will be in the lineup next week, as his one game suspension is over. Ellis was suspended by the league due to a 2008 arrest for marijuana possession. The Jets also released CB Marquice Cole, who was inactive for yesterday's game, to make room for Ellis on the 53-man roster.
