PK Nick Folk is back with the New York Jets for at least another season. Folk, who was an unrestricted free agent, was re-signed to a 1-year deal. Folk joined the Jets in 2010 after spending the first three years of his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys. Last season he converted 21 of 27 field goal attempts, which was his highest percentage since joining the Gang Green.

The New York Jets showed some signs of life un Sunday, as they earned a road win against the St. Louis Rams, 27-13. Just when most experts and fans, myself included, had written them off, QB Mark Sanchez and Co. finally played a mistake free game. Granted, it was against the lowly Rams, but considering the team's disarray just a week ago, this was definitely a step in the right direction.
It was another quiet day for the New York Jets, as the Gang Green re-signed PK Nick Folk, who spent last two seasons with the team. Folk converted only 76% of his field goal attempts last season and the Jets intend to bring another kicker to training camp to compete with him.

The New York Jets have re-signed PK Nick Folk who converted only 76% of field goal attempts last year. The terms of the deal are unknown at this point, but hopefully this is a 1-year deal with no bonus, so the team can dump him anytime if a better option at kicker becomes available.

RB Shonn Greene's three touchdown runs and QB Mark Sanchez's 4th quarter touchdown pass to WR Santonio Holmes propelled the Jets past the Washington Redskins and one step closer to making the playoffs. It wasn't pretty though as the game was rather even throughout the first three quarters. The Jets took the lead in the final quarter on a 30-yard TD pass from Sanchez to Holmes. Then, three plays later, LB Aaron Maybin sacked the quarterback forcing a fumble that was recovered on Washington's 9-yard line. Two plays later Greene scored his second touchdown of the game, sealing the deal.

We've been through this many times before, we've believed in this many times before and the Jets have failed just like this many times before. They did it again last night when in a must win game against the hated Patriots, they just failed to perform up to the level needed to be competitive. In the game that was expected to result in the shift of power in the AFC East, the crowned champ simply demolished the contender. Contrary to last week, when the Gang Green performed admirably against the Bills in every aspect of the game, this time they made crucial mistakes everywhere they could - offense, defense and special teams.

According to various sources, the New York Jets placed highest-level tenders (1st and 3rd rounders) on WR Santonio Holmes and CB Antonio Cromartie. While the moves temporarily secure the players' rights, it's unclear what their status will be under a new CBA. The current CBA expires Thursday night. If unrestricted free agency reverts to four years if and when a new CBA is reached, these tenders would be moot. But with the agreement set to expire, and no new labor deal yet in place, teams have to cover their bases.
According to ESPN, the New York Jets are looking into possibilities of replacing struggling PK Nick Folk who has missed 5 of his last 10 field goal attempts. Last Thursday he missed a 44-year attempt, almost missed an extra point and came up short on three kickoffs. The week before Folk missed 3 field goals against the Cleveland Browns.

According to ESPN, PK Jay Feely is expected to sigh a 2-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals where he will join another former Jet, S Kerry Rhodes. Feely's departure will leave the Jets with only PK Nick Folk, who was signed by the team on February 23. Folk was cut by the Cowboys in Week 15 last season after converting just 18 of 28 field goal attempts.
