It's tough for any fan outside of New England to watch the Patriots make a Super Bowl run year after year. But for Jets fans, it's much more personal than that and, dare we say, even offensive?! But here we are again, only this year it's worse, so much worse, than last year when the Eagles doused any hopes of another Lombardi Trophy in Foxboro. This season the Patriots defeated the Rams 13-3 in a game that was heavy on defense and light on offense. Even the best online sportsbook out there had this year’s Super Bowl total in the mid to upper 50's. Yet, only 16 combined points were scored.

Heading into Super Bowl LIII (53), New York Jets fans will be watching QB Tom Brady and the New England Patriots face off against the Los Angeles Rams for a chance to win the team's NFL record 6th Super Bowl. After several years of toiling around towards the bottom of the East Division, American Football Conference and National Football League, there's a growing urgency for Jets management to turn this franchise around.

In the old days, before the Patriots dominated the Super Bowl, the rule of thumb was that if your favorite team hails from the AFC then you would be rooting for the AFC entry in the Super Bowl and vice versa for the NFC. But that rule has gotten a bit murky, particularly for Jets' fans who are sick and tired of New England's stranglehold on the AFC East and the Tom Brady Invitational that the AFC Championship game has come to resemble. Therefore, a win by the LA Rams would be a welcome reprieve from the ubiquitous New England Patriots and maybe, just maybe, this is the end of Belichick's reign of terror over the conference, and dare we say, even the division! If you check out any online sportsbook you will see that the Patriots are a slight favorite over the Rams but perhaps that’s just one more reason to like LA.

American Football has a great history but it is fair to say that the New York Jets have not made their mark on it as much as they would have liked. With the off-season rebuilding underway, fans of the Gang Green will be starting to hope again in the way that all sports fans do when the dust has settled on the previous campaign. With that in mind, here is something to remind all those that follow the Jets that miracles do happen.
The Jets finished the season with a 5-9 record. While it's nothing to brag about we have to keep in mind that in the eyes of many analyst they exceeded their pre-season expectations. One ESPN analyst even said they wouldn't win a game. The early 2019 odds have them at 100-1 to win the Super Bowl. Still sitting at the bottom of the pack but there is plenty to build on heading into the offseason and looking forward to the draft. While we wait to see how the team address a lot of the concerns we get ready for Super Bowl LII. For many fans a lot of the fun doesn't just involve the game itself but the hundreds of prop bets available on the game and the festivities. You can wager on just about anything!

And so it begins... another NFL season is upon us. The Jets' top offseason priority was upgrading their struggling offense. The Gang Green did just that, as they signed WR Eric Decker, RB Chris Johnson, and drafted a promising TE Jay Amaro to provide more weapons for QB Geno Smith. The defense, on the other hand, has huge holes at the cornerback position. So, according to all power rankings, the Jets are exactly where they were at the end of last season - trying to establish themselves inside the top 20.

Today, the NFL’s 32 owners voted to award Super Bowl XLVIII to the new home of the Giants and Jets, which means that the 2010 Super Bowl will become the first one played in cold weather environment.
