NFL Draft

Jets go defense in 3rd round

Admin - April 29, 2006

After drafting two offensive linemen and a quarterback in the first two rounds, the New York Jets addressed their defense in the third round. First, the Gang Green traded down from #71 to #76 overall and selected LB Anthony Schlegel from Ohio State.
Schlegel, 6'1", 251 lbs, is a tough, intelligent player who's pretty good against the run.
Then, with their #97 overall selection the Jets grabbed SS Eric Smith from Michigan State.
