Jets Free Agent Signings

Jets strengthen o-line – sign Woody

Admin - March 3, 2008

Just a few days into free agency and the Jets' offensive line has turned from one of the worst in the league into one of the best, at least on paper. The Gang Green continued their free agency frenzy by signing OL Damien Woody, formerly of New England and Detroit.

Woody, 30, is projected to start at right tackle. His contract is reportedly for $25.5M over 5 years with $11M guaranteed. With this signing the Jets will have four former first round picks on their offensive line - Ferguson, Faneca, Mangold and Woody.

In other news: According to foxsports, the trade that would send DT Dewayne Robertson to the Bengals has apparently fallen through, as Cincinnati failed to reach a contract agreement with Robertson.
