Suspensions

Ellis joins Pace on the suspended list

Admin - August 17, 2009

DE Shaun Ellis has been suspended without pay for the season opener and fined $100,000 by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy. So, the Gang Green will be missing two starters due to suspensions when the season begins on September 13th. LB Calvin Pace will be serving a 4-game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. DE Mike DeVito and LB Vernon Gholston are expected to replace Ellis and Pace in the starting lineup.

Meanwhile, NT Kris Jenkins returned to practice this morning and participated in light team drills. DT Howard Green was taken to the locker room for an undisclosed reason. He walked off the field under his own strength.

QB Mark Sanchez ended this morning's practice with a long TD pass to WR David Clowney. Clowney was seen in a chat room past 1am last night, so it looks like having little sleep doesn't seem to affect his performance on the field.
