Admin - September 8, 2009

According to Jets Confidential, the New York Jets signed LB Ryan Fowler, a 6-year veteran who has played for the Titans and Cowboys. According to the same source, the Jets released FB Jason Davis to make room for Fowler.

Fowler, 27, has played in 62 NFL games, recording 132 tackles (100 solo). Fowler entered the league in 2004 when he was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent.

Meanwhile, both DE Shaun Ellis and LB Calvin Pace were not present at this morning's practice, as they are suspended for the opening game. DE Mike DeVito, who was supposed to replace Ellis in the starting lineup, did not practice due to a hamstring injury. DT Sione Pouha will start if DeVito can't play. Pace was replaced in the lineup by LB Vernon Gholston.
