Injuries

Friday injury update

Admin - September 11, 2009

With less than 48 hours left until the season opener, the Jets currently have 6 players on their injured list. DE Mike DeVito is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. He's been limited in practice the last two days. QB Kellen Clemens (elbow), RB Shonn Greene (ribs), LB Bryan Thomas (ankle), WR Wallace Wright (knee) are all listed as probable and have fully participated in practice sessions this week. TE Dustin Keller was added to the injury list with a toe problem, but practiced and should be ready to go on Sunday. Also, if you follow Keller's updates on twitter (or the feed we have on this website), he is going to the Yankee game tonight (if the rain stops) along with QB Mark Sanchez and S Kerry Rhodes. So, apparently his toe is not bothering him that much.

According to Jets Confidential, "Rex Ryan has tweaked the Jets travel approach. He feels the Jets need to fly in earlier to road games than they did the last three years. Eric Mangini liked to arrive late on the day before the game, and not spend as much time in the opposing city. Rex wants to arrive in the middle of the afternoon, so players can settle in, go out to dinner and then come back for meetings."

The Jets will have a sendoff pep rally Saturday morning at 10AM ET at their practice facility in Florham Park. Head coach Rex Ryan and S Kerry Rhodes will address the fans, and then the players will run through a "tunnel" of high-fiving fans before the team leaves for Houston.
