Sanchez gets nominated despite loss in Miami

QB Mark Sanchez is among the finalists for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week honors for games played on Oct. 11-12, the NFL announced earlier today. In the game against the Miami Dolphins he completed 12 of 24 passes for 172 yards and one touchdown. The other four finalists are WR Austin Collie of the Indianapolis Colts, WR Jeremy Maclin of the Philadelphia Eagles, WR Hakeem Nicks of the New York Giants, and RB Knowshon Moreno of the Denver Broncos. Fans can vote for one of these five players on NFL.com/rookies beginning Tuesday at 9 a.m. ET and ending on Friday at noon ET to determine the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week. The winner will be announced Friday evening on NFL.com/rookies.

Mark Sanchez was Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week in the first three weeks of regular season when he became the first Jets rookie quarterback to start his NFL career 3-0.
